The Corner Shed
“A shed of sustainable proportions”

Built by the designer Darren Hunter, and his Missus, using only battery powered tools.

The intension was to build a tool shed from left over’s.  All materials were recycled, purchased from Auctions, Trade Me and gathered from renovation projects etc.  The only new products purchased were the nails, bolts and the paint.

The Corner Shed is 9.95sqm so no building consent was required.

The yellow door is a recycled sliding garage door destined for the tip and the 1950’s timber window had the same fate.  With enough exterior cedar weather board for two sides, and the remainder completed in left over hardiflex.  The white timber skirt and some battening made from fence paling off cuts.

The shed is fully insulated, has power, lights, and interior linings (MDF) all salvaged from previous jobs

As the materials were gathered and building commenced it became apparent it was far too nice to put the lawn mower in so it became a sleep out.
